From the Director
Workplace giving is a complex subject. The origins of workplace giving can be traced back to factory lineworkers passing the hat in the 1800's. Today, employee contributions through workplace giving campaigns raise approximately $3 Billion a year.
For many years the workplace giving movement was directed by one major charity. However, during the early 1980's, in response to the fact that this single-giving-option strategy omitted huge numbers of legitimate and hard-working non-profits number of alternative workplace giving federations were established. Community Services Fund of Nebraska is one of these successful and viable workplace giving alternative federations.
Community Services Fund of Nebraska is dedicated to raising contributions locally, one dollar at a time and distributing those donations to charities based on the DONORS choice. Monies are not pooled and distributed as we see fit; rather distribution is driven by those giving the dollars.
We believe that there is a great future in workplace giving and look forward to increasing the opportunities for non-profits and donors alike. When we all work together and give together, we make the communities we live in across the state stronger, more diverse, more interesting places to live and work. We make "the good life" even better!
If you are currently a donor to Community Services Fund and our member agencies, thank you! If you would like to learn about how to add Community Services Fund to your annual workplace giving campaign or would like to volunteer for our cause, please don't hesitate to contact me.
The opportunities for improving Nebraskans' Quality of Life are endless.
Best Wishes,
Kiersten Hill
